The children have been having a great time learning about all the ways they can describe the world around them. We worked on new words to describe smells as we sniffed and sorted over 30 scents! From fresh cut grass, to lemon, to different types of flowers, and maple syrup. It was a lot of fun and the children did a fantastic job.  We are also learning about the different ways we can describe items when they are very similar. The children are working on identifying different textures, shapes, sizes, and more. We are comparing several different river rocks and while we start with the knowledge that "it is a rock" we are working on learning how to describe each rock. From bumpy, smooth, flat, fat, and light or dark, these rocks are a great way for children to learn new vocabulary.  Thank you for all the support!  Kilby Tiger Parents are the best parents.  - Mrs. Houston

The children are having a great time learning about the five senses. We have been reading lots of books about our senses and having great conversations about how our senses open the world to us. The children really love the explorations we have been engaging in from looking at simple things like popcorn using all five senses, to attempting to tell the difference between salt and sugar by sight, touch, sound, and smell before finally using taste. We took a listening walk and are looking forward to having a taste test. Ask your children about their senses and what they can do with them.
