Scholastic’s Learn at Home:

Scholastic’s Learn at Home website is a day-by-day, cross-curricular, grade specific website that is dedicated to helping students engage in learning experiences while at home. The website supports students in grades pre-kindergarten-9thgrade.

EPIC:

This website is a digital library full of cross-curricular books and videos. I have emailed you the link to login to our class page which gives you FREE access until June 30, 2020. If you did not receive it, please email me.

Teach Your Monster to READ:

This is an award-winning series of games, which help students to master the key first stages of reading. It is FREE to play on a PC and Laptop at home. The program helps students to build phonics skills while making learning to read fun!

 

Scholastic Class Magazines:

Please remember to check out our scholastic classroom magazines. These are authentic texts with digital resources to ignite student engagement and raise achievement in every content area. Each edition has digital resources that allow students to extend learning with games, videos, and skills sheets connected to each issue. There is also a button at the top of the screen to translate content to Spanish.

Origo Parent Portal:

Parents, Origo provides you access to math resources through their Parent Portal. 

This is where you can find the link to download the FREE application NumFu. NumFu is a game that supports students in developing fact fluency skills. You can also access by grade level the wide array of family resources for Mathematical Thinking at Home. This resource has additional work from home skills sheets that align with classroom content and videos to help support parents and students with practicing learning targets.

Didax Math Manipulatives:

This is an incredible place to find all of the manipulatives that students use in the classroom on a virtual platform.

General Resources:

PWCS Home Learning:
This resource was created by Prince William County Schools to support families and give guidance during school closures. One of the great features is a sample optional daily schedule. It's a great balance of physical activity, creative time, academics, and family time. There are also optional academic activities and websites that you may find helpful!


CLEVER:

This is a link that Prince William County Schools has provided to help your student to access several of the academic applications that specifically align with classroom content and state standards like MyON, Lexia, Benchmark, and ST Math. Please use student badges that were provided in their take-home folders. If you cannot find or have misplaced your student’s badge, please email me directly.

Smithsonian Institute's Explore and Learn:

The Smithsonian's Explore and Learn webpage is where students can discover something new, spark an interest, or make connections! There are animal cams, art projects, and tons of learning games. Head to the "For Kids" section for fun things to do at home.

Story Time from Space:
Watch and enjoy, as Astronauts read books and conduct science experiments directly from the International Space Station.

National Children's Museum:
​Join the National Children's Museum daily as they provide daily STEM focused virtual programs through their FACEBOOK page.

Soar With Wings:
Soar with Wings is a great resource that students with digital resources that incorporate academics and fun while building key social emotional skills for students. It also provides tips and support for parents that help them to equip students with the support they need to fly high! Soar with Wings has been created in partnership by Discovery Education and Allstate Foundation.

GO Noodle At Home:

This is a website that we also use at school which helps students to stay active, focused, and calm while infusing good energy into our classroom! Be sure to balance the day with fun and learning while incorporating this FREE online resource to balance Good Energy at home.

This website is dedicated to inform, equip, and inspire parents to help their kids thrive in school and in life. Be a Learning Hero offers grade specific resources created by trusted experts like National PTA, Scholastic, GreatSchools, and more. At the top right portion of the screen, you can set the language preference to your comfort level.
