Visiting Our School

VISITORS

To ensure the safety of all students, all visitors must leave a valid picture ID before a visitor badge will be provided.  A visitor badge must be worn at all times while in the school.  Parents who bring lunches, books, homework, etc., can leave these items in the office and they will be delivered to the classroom.

 CLASSROOM VISITS

In order to observe your child in the classroom, parents will need to contact administration to schedule up to one 30-minute visit per semester.  This policy is to protect instructional time and ensure that parent questions can be answered by an administrator without interrupting the instructional process and the teacher.

Volunteering in the classroom can be arranged with the classroom teacher.  Be mindful, for students’ safety and by county regulation, visitors must check in the office when entering the building and cannot go to the classroom directly.

 PARENT VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Volunteers are always welcome and greatly appreciated.  Talk to your child’s teacher or call the school for more information.  Volunteers work with students, do clerical tasks, work from home, be a part of our Family and Community Engagement Committee, and assist in many other ways.  Please be sure to complete the volunteer training and have a signed volunteer agreement on file.  For safety reasons, children are not permitted to be in the workroom with copiers, paper cutters, etc. You may contact our Parent Liaison, Shirley Bermejo, with any questions.

 BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Parents may bring in light and healthy treats for students to enjoy only during the scheduled lunch time. If you would like to bring in a treat for all students, it must be store bought and made in a facility without nuts. You may also consider motivational pencils, a book for the class library, or a book read aloud to the class. Please, do not send in balloons and goodie bags. If invitations are distributed, please be sure every child in the class receives one.
