ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL
The school day begins at 8:30 a.m. The tardy bell rings at 8:45 a.m. Morning announcements will be played at this time. Our dismissal bell rings at 3:25 p.m.
Students should not arrive at school before 8:30 a.m. Staff members will not be on duty before 8:30 a.m., so it is very important that students are not dropped off before that time. The safety of our students is our number ONE priority. If your child is getting breakfast from the cafeteria, he/she may enter the building at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast will be grab and go!
Any parent needing to enter the building MUST have a picture ID. Parents should not accompany their child to class unless they have spoken with an administrator and have been checked in at the front office. Students should be in their classrooms and ready to begin the day at 8:45 a.m. Students arriving after 8:45 a.m. are tardy and must be accompanied by a parent to the front desk to be signed in and obtain a tardy pass.
When dropping off and picking up students, please be sure to park in the parking lot. Please do not park or leave your car unattended in the car rider lane or bus loop if you need to sign your student in or pick them up early. Please follow the direction of the staff in the parking lot to allow students and staff to arrive and depart from school safely.
If you need to change how your student will be dismissed from school, please call the office by 2 p.m. After 2 p.m., the front office becomes very busy, and it may become difficult to get a dismissal change to a classroom teacher.

KINDERGARTEN DISMISSAL
As dictated by county policy, kindergarten students must be accompanied to and from school/ bus stop by a parent, guardian, or other designated individual. Anyone picking up a kindergarten student must present ID at school and/or the bus stop.
Kindergarten parents will need to complete the Kindergarten Authorization Form for all bus riders.
ONLY those listed on the Kindergarten Authorization Form will be authorized to pick up kindergarten students at the bus stop. Kindergarten students who do not have an adult or older sibling waiting for them at the bus stop will be driven back to school. It is then the responsibility of the parent to pick the child up from school in a timely manner.
Kindergarten Authorization Form:
- An older sibling who does not ride the same bus and is at least 12 years old may pick up a kindergarten student at the bus stop with an ID.
- If an older sibling rides the same bus may take their kindergarten sibling with them from the bus as long as they are listed on the Kindergarten Authorization Form.
- Parents/Guardians MUST be listed on the Kindergarten Authorization Form.
- Anyone taking a kindergarten student from the bus MUST be listed on the Kindergarten Authorization Form.
- See the front office for a form.
EARLY DISMISSALS
Remember, instructional lessons continue until 3:25 p.m. Please avoid unscheduled early pick up as this impacts our dismissal process unless you have an appointment. Early dismissals should be scheduled in advance and should occur before 2:00 p.m. to allow the office staff to prepare for dismissal.
CHANGE IN DISMISSAL
Whenever it is necessary for a student to change the way he/she is going home after school than what is normally assigned, parents must send a note to school. For the safety of our students, telephone, fax and email dismissal changes are not allowed. If a student is going to visit a friend and needs to ride a different bus, the parents of both students need to send a note to school. The office will approve these notes and hand them to the bus driver.
KISS AND RIDE
If you choose to drive your child to and from school each day, please stop by the front office to complete a car rider application. Once you complete the car rider application, you will be given a number to display in the window of your vehicle.
Parents may only drop off students in the Car Rider Lane in front of the building. Please make sure that your student exits your car on the building side with the assistance of staff members.
Please wait in line at dismissal and follow the directions of the staff in the parking lot. Students are called by the Car Tag number. Please make sure your Car Tag is visible in your car for both staff and students. Pull your car forward as far as possible in the line.
For student and staff safety, please do not pass cars in the car lane and please follow staff direction in the parking lot.
If you choose to park in the lot, please:
- Park in a designated parking spot
- Turn your car off
- Walk to where your student is located
- Hold your student’s hand as you return to your car
- Follow the staff's direction in the parking lot
Please do not park in undesignated areas. Please do not pass other cars in line. Please drive slowly on school property and be kind to others.
